We Miss Ya Kiddo

Ryan, Farren and Bob May of 2004

Just stumbled onto this photo and realized how tall Ryan was in 2004.  He had such great posture.  He was a proud person who always had to have his hair just so and his clothes stylish.  Von Dutch ?  I think that was really popular at the time but for the life of me I can’t remember why?  So many things Ryan has missed.  He never saw a Iphone, Facebook or apps that do everything.  He has missed Farren’s kids growing up and Bob & I growing older.  He missed Pflugerville having Hwy 45 and 130, Costco, so many fast food places and a super Walmart and Target.  He would have loved having super fun technology and access to everything in Pflugerville.  So while he missed so many new advances, we continue to just miss him.

Pictures

One of my big fears is that I will lose my photos of Ryan.  Lots of his friends sent photos to me via email and I saved on my hard drive.  So I backup nightly, I have amazon backup storage, dropbox storage and two portable drives.  Lol, I guess Ryan is rolling his eyes … I always go to the extreme.  But I rest easy know they are there when I am ready to revisit the past.  This is one of my favorite photos.  Ryan and his sister making faces at each other… imagine that !!

Gifts

Sometimes I get frustrated that the only thing I can do for Ryan is put new flowers on his grave or buy some trinket that I put there until its picked up by the cemetery.  But the last years I have tried to do something positive on his birthday.  This past birthday I took some new clothing, socks & underwear to a men’s shelter.  I try to do something positive that helps others in his name.  If you have some ideas let me know.  I am always looking for outlets.

Happy Birthday Ryan

Today is Ryan’s Birthday and I can only imagine how things would be if her were alive today.  Would he love FaceBook, what kind of car would he drive and what would he look like.  When you lose someone at 32 years old they are frozen young.  He will remain my fresh faced young son who had his whole life ahead.  As I look in the mirror I see the road map of life in my wrinkles and the worries in my gray hair.  We all miss his smile and quirky sense of humor.  He would have taught his niece and nephew the “art” of being the brightest spot in the room.  He would have enjoyed showing them the world.  I think he would be active in the Texas BMX Hall of Fame and would have enjoyed the new BMX track in Pflugerville...

Birthday Season

One of my favorite stories about Ryan is when he was about 10 years old he wanted to open a birthday gift early.  I said no it’s not your birthday and he said “Mom, Its my Birthday Season”.  Most of us had a birthDAY he had a season.

Memory

Oh My I was on FaceBook and the conversation was about how BMX has changed.  I remember when Ryan, Marty, Carl and Tony and I think Clive was in there or James Pritchard rode their BMX bikes to Georgetown to see Amy Graves.  It had to be 20 miles over there and they rode to a local swimming hole.  After swimming all day they called me and asked me to come with the suburban and pick them up.  So off I went to bring them all back to Pflugerville.  Remember no cell phones nothing but foot power.  Good old days!!!

Dreams

Had a talk with Brenda today and we talked about dreams.  The best gift you have given me was in a dream.  In the dream I asked if you if you were doing ok.  You answered that “it was hard but you are doing ok”.  For some crazy reason that dream gave me peace.  I do believe there is a thing veil between living and death, and the ones who went before send signs and messages.

The WordPress site is now operating !!

We have migrated Ryans site to WordPress.  It has been a challenge to learn but easy once you understand it.  I hope to be making changes and updating many things.  LOL I know I have said it before but I do think that it will be easier now.

Ryan would have loved Facebook

LOL Ryan would have loved Facebook but in 2005 we had not been introduced.  Those of you that knew him can only imagine what he would have posted.  To say he was a like a good prank is the  top of the iceberg.  He did enjoy his friends and pranking everyone…. even me.
